Geographically Manipur provides a land bridge and cultural corridor between shouth-east Asia and mainland India. Throughout the ages, the region has received the waves of human migration mainly form the east as well as cultural impulses both form the east and west.
Manipur has bee referred to as the state where there is fundamental unity in the midst of diversity. More that 50 (fifty) different ethnic tribes have been inhabiting both in the hill and plain districts of Manipur.
This film on the Zeliangrong- a composite group of ethnic communities of common origin and socio – cultural background highlights the rich cultural heritage and their traditional way of life which is onthe brink of extinction.
