A Red Carpet Event for the First Time in Imphal

A red carpet is traditionally used to mark the route taken by heads of state on ceremonial and formal occasions. Today it is known as a legacy of the entertainment industry. It is identified with the culture of our celebrities and the aura that surrounds them.

The red carpet has a history of all those who have been a part of the entertainment industry. While the awards take place inside, much of the publicity and excitement takes place outside with journalists discussing the red carpet fashions, which designer's design is being worn by which star and photographers taking pictures.

This also becomes a spectacular opportunity and of great importance to the fashion industry. The red carpet has also been a symbol of luck and good fortune. Since the people who walk on the carpet are prosperous, admired and honored, such a carpet has good fortune attached to it.

The very first Academy Awards ceremony, held on May 16, 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel, was an intimate dinner for 270 entertainment industry insiders. Today, the Oscars are watched by hundreds of millions of fans in over 200 countries around the world.

But in all these years, one thing hasn't changed; the fashions worn by the event's attendees garner as much attention as the awards themselves. The fashion trends that follow the red carpet are closely watched and monitored. Emerging trends and wearing it right, has catapulted many celebrities to stardom.

As for the present scenario in Manipur, the glamour, the fame, the fashion, is different. The need to introduce such occasion rises now more than ever. This will open up more scope and opportunities for the stars as well as the entire film industry to a more productive growth.

If given, such carpet for the stars to walk on, chances are high for the film industry to be revolutionized. If the Page 3 culture is initiated, the dawn of a new era will be seen. This will also increase the revenue for the film industry, which will mean the production of better made movies with state of the art technology.

There are many opportunities whose doors are yet to be opened. There will be better job prospect to the thousands unemployed. The upcoming Red Carpet with a traditional flavor was also strategically planned to promote the fashion industry of the state. Whilst there are potential for designers and stylists in Manipur, never was a chance given to them to showcase it.

With the aim of creating more job opportunities, this event is being organized. Moreover, the indigenous creations and ethnic wear can be promoted. The union of an ethnic twist to the glam and fame of the red carpet will mark the promotion of traditional values.

Brand promotion and products will also be launched on the day of the event. Sponsors along with their respective products will set up stalls and promote them to the crowd.

Red Carpet for the movie premiere, Beragee Bomb, will be held on the 31st of August at the MFDC. This whole mega event will be organized by WOL Media.
