THAMOINADI KOUHOURI
At the threshold of the third Millennium, human being sees a lesser way of existence. The line between the rich and the poor becomes more vivid, day-by-day. A government paid employee can find a wider scope of living in comparison to an earner by hand to mouth means. It becomes more prominent that everyone should take a vow "Work for Any Work".
A middle class family of Manipur is led by an old father (Chandra Singh) with three sons (Achouba, Yaima and Sudhir) and two daughter-in-laws of the first two. Variation of incomes creates cracks and ultimate family quarrels from which in turn, one has forgotten the family bindings and love. Less of affection tears up the family into two unequal halves.
The last son, Sudhir after the death of the eldest, becomes a Rickshaw-Puller and affords the family. He has to pull himself away from his love, romance, education etc. The widow sister-in-law, the old father and he - they are very much worried of the ailing little baby of the house.
As the separator, middle son and his wife give no birth, the ailing girl is the only off spring of the family. The separator couple does not help the worried old man and the widow.
With no means on hand, the grandfather, the mother and the helpless uncle have to see the departure of the loving soul of their beloved "Thoibi".
From every end, something has to be started. Our Thoibi's uncle does not stop Rickshaw pulling, for he has no other means to survive in today's society.
Someone's heart may someday, recall him or Thoibi.
