Chungkham Sangeeta Devi, today's frontrunner among the female singers is the one who entertains the crowd in almost every musical shows. Standing tall, she knows what the viewers aspect from her while performing on stages. She is the third child of the family while she has an elder brother, a sister and a younger sister.
While studying in class IV, Chungkham Sangeeta first got the opportunity to perform live in her life at the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) in 2006 in a musical programme organized by 'Kanglasha'. Thereby, she learnt the art of singing under the guidance from the very popular Hamom Sadananda.
Chungkham Sangeeta used to sing old melodies of yesteryears but as a singer of today's generation she has been associated with modern Manipuri music. And her parents at the same time too encourage her when she opted to take up the profession of music. But, a word from the parents was to become a well educated person while she also prepares to become a professional singer too.
Her parents, relatives, teachers and her uncle Lalit Ningomba inspires in her endeavour to become a well known singer. As a result of her hard work in music, Chungkham Sangeeta was awarded first position in 'Best of AMMIK' 2012 competition. After learning music from various avenues, Sangeeta released her first solo album entitled 'Aruba Eechel' in the year 2013.
With her aim to be one of the finest singer, she had released more than 10 songs of her own while many are also on the set. Among her popular numbers, Aruba Eechel, Nungsigi Ten, Laibak Asuk Thigani, etc may be noted. If she wasn't in the field of music, she said, she would have opted towards more emphasis on her studies.
Chungkham Sangeeta completed Visharad in Hindustani Vocals from Shri Shri Bal Mukunda Dev Music College in the year 2009. She is currently pursuing her BA first semester in GP Women's College, Imphal. She is also enjoying National Scholarship sponsored by Centre for Cultural Resource and Training (CCRT) New Delhi

In her career performance in almost every parts of the state, she came across various inconveniences. Ill behavior of the viewers like coming up to the stage and whispering for a long time, shaking hands and also dragging from the stage are some inconveniences that she would like to avoid.
One who wishes to become a successful singer needs patience, discipline and sacrifice while one also need to have enough knowledge about music before entering into this field according to Sangeeta.
In her message to the society, Sangeeta appeals to the people of Manipur to live peacefully without any conflict between different groups. She also urged the people to give appreciation and encouragement to the works of singers and actors. In her career as a singer, she would like to give credit to her family members, teachers, her uncle (Lalit Ningomba and John Mangang) and all those who encourage and support her in this field.
